“Welcoming Party”

When we are attending the college, the common tradition that every new student has to follow is the welcoming party. Welcoming party is student orientation period to introduce them about the campus. It is usually conducted by the senior for the junior in the first year. Mostly, it is being held for a three day and even a week. In this program the new student would be introduced anything about the campus, get close to campus environment and best time to make a friend. The student would get information about the rule, learning process and anything about their study. Besides, sometimes they also have to attend the seminar that would help them to get the description about the college year that they have to attend for graduation. There are many advantages of welcoming party or student orientation period. They are, get the description of the campus, mental training and give something memorable in our life.

The first time we come to the new place, we need to pick acquainted with everything around us. We need to know the place, the people and the environment, including the college student in their first year. When they come to the campus at the first time, they need to know what they have to do and what they don’t, they need to know the administration of the campus, the classes that they should take, the important thing that they have to accomplish in learning and so on. Welcoming party is the time for them to get all those things. It will give them the description of the campus. The senior who handle the program would help the student to know anything about the college year, because welcoming party is the time to introduce the new student about where they are now.

Beside to introduce new student about the environment of the campus, it also has contribution to build up their mental. Welcoming party is the site for mental training. This period is not only about the seminar attending, in some occasion it also invite the student to show their friend what they got. It is like talent show where the students sometimes have to do something and they fail, so as the punishment the committee of the program commands them to perform something. Indirectly, this activity would build up their self confidence to show what they got along with they have been growing up. They are the college student now. There is no time to leave behind. It will give such a kind energy to make them ready to face their college year.

Then again all the things that the new students get in welcoming party would always in their mind. Because it is the first time when they are proven not as the children anymore, they have already grown up. It is the time when they meet new people and make a new friend. Welcoming party is not something serious. There are many fun things that they can feel along this program running. Student orientation not only give them the description of the campus but also introduce them about the friendship, how belong together along the college year, how to make a good relation with the new people and how to build the dream of our life that we want to accomplished. When we are turn into grey, the first time we attending the college and follow the program that the senior conduct as the welcoming party is something sweet to remember. It is the wonderful time as the new student, the time where we can get the best friend to catch up together and to reach the dreams altogether too.

Attending welcoming party is not something bad. it is not only useless program that conducted by the senior, but it is something wonderful in our college year, because it helps us to get closer to the campus environment, train our mentality to get ready facing the college year and it is something sweet and memorable in our whole life.
